MODULE 1 (45 hours), MODULE 2 (40 hours)
This is not a largescale corporate program. It’s very thorough and will prepare you well to teach powerful prenatal yoga sessions. If you like a personal touch and want to see and speak to the instructor along this journey, this is the training for you!
Albuquerque prenatal yoga teacher training with Baby Moon Tri-Fit offers prenatal yoga training to those interested in learning about teaching prenatal yoga either in the class setting or in the individual client or clinic setting.
Upon completion of the second module, you’ll be eligible for full certification/registration as a Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) (85 Hours total), assuming you’ve also completed a 200 RYT program elsewhere.
The Baby Moon Yoga Albuquerque Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (PYTT) can be beneficial to yoga teachers interested in working directly with pregnant practitioners as well as birth workers including: childbirth educators, doulas, midwives, and birth support partners.
The Albuquerque Prenatal Yoga Baby Moon Yoga PYTT utilizes a flexible schedule program that has a combo of optional in-person, online recorded videos, & livestreamed sessions with Sarah, who is a certified Childbirth Educator, Spinning Babies Parent Educator, Prenatal Yoga Teacher for over a decade, mom of 2, and was certified as a Labor Doula.
MODULE 1 PRENATAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING OUTLINE (45 hours):
Module 1 is a combo of video lecture-style presentations, attending live prenatal yoga classes either in-person or livestream, and several 1:1 sessions w/ the lead teacher to go over assignments and any questions that you may have.
Each trainee will receive all downloadable presentations via email. Small homework assignments will need to be completed after several presentations in order to receive the Module 1 Prenatal Yoga Training Certificate of Completion. Call 505-289-0510 or email to start today.
MODULE 1 Topics Covered:
- Syllabus of Prenatal Yoga Postures for each trimester.
- Contraindicated yoga postures and exercises for the trimesters during pregnancy.
- Stages & phases of labor & birth.
- The prenatal yoga teacher’s scope of practice.
- Strengthening & stabilizing movements & postures for prenatal yoga.
- How to use props to support a safe and productive prenatal yoga session.
- How to assist verbally and hands-on to a pregnant person.
- Foundations & alignment principles for a safe and productive prenatal yoga class.
- Issues in pregnancy.
- Breathing techniques for prenatal yoga.
MODULE 2 PRENATAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING OUTLINE (40 hours)
Module 2 includes 7 sections, each with a video presentation, and attending livestream or in-person prenatal yoga classes through Baby Moon Tri-Fit.
The remaining hours will go towards:
• Choosing 4 Baby Moon Yoga video practice sessions to practice and discuss (4 hours)
• 2 case study assignments plus livestream or in-person meeting to discuss (4 hours)
• Prepare and instruct a 1 hour (or longer) prenatal yoga session to the instructor, or several short sessions, if that matches your purposes better. (3 hours)
MODULE 2 Topics Covered:
- Basic history of yoga & prenatal yoga.
- Anatomy and physiology of the pregnant body.
- Foundations & alignment principles for a safe and productive prenatal yoga class.
- Proper alignment & form of all prenatal yoga postures from the training manual
- Sequencing for prenatal yoga sessions.
- Different types of prenatal yoga: foundations of prenatal yoga, prenatal yoga flow, partner prenatal yoga, kundalini prenatal yoga, prenatal yoga for strength, prenatal yoga for stabilizing, and restorative prenatal yoga.
- Setting up a welcoming prenatal yoga space that honors all family dynamics and the LGBTQIA+ community.
- How to use props to support a safe and productive prenatal yoga session.
- How to assist verbally and hands-on to a pregnant person.
- Stages & phases of labor & birth.
- Postpartum & Baby & Me Yoga basics

Registration with the Yoga Alliance requires 30 hours of teaching prenatal yoga after completion of the 85 hour mentorship. If you’re not interested in registering as a prenatal yoga teacher, you do not have to teach these hours.
