Pregnancy Yoga Private Sessions Online & In-person

While pregnancy is often a beautifully rich time in a person’s life, it is commonly accompanied by low back, pubic, pelvic, and other physical discomfort. A specialized prenatal yoga session can specifically address and relieve these mild to moderate complaints. ​

Each session is designed with you and your trimester specifically in mind. In addition to yoga postures and movement, sessions include labor preparation, breathwork, and restorative postures. Birthing parents typically leave these sessions feeling strong, rejuvenated, and blissful. Partner labor prep sessions can be arranged as well. ​

Postpartum Private Sessions (babies welcome): Intelligent Recovery & Strength- Building

MOST PRODUCTIVE IF SCHEDULED WEEKLY. SESSIONS CAN BE SPLIT/SHARED W/ OTHER PARENTS.

Properly restore your body and nurture yourself in a safe and productive way, which will allow your body to be ready for all of the activities (and possibly more!) that you enjoyed before pregnancy. Build back into a fitness routine that suits your life now! A new mom’s or caregiver’s body is often loaded with many unavoidable demands like hours of nursing, rocking, holding, and lifting baby – with not a lot of sleep and time for recovery.

Sessions will focus on intelligently bringing deep strength and vitality to your core – often making it even stronger than it was before. If you’re experiencing mild to moderate pain or discomfort in the low back, shoulders/neck, or pubic or pelvic area or have diastasis rectus, Sarah will specifically address these areas with you and develop a plan with you to comfortably be in your body and find some relief and rejuvenation.

3-Series Partner Prenatal Yoga & Labor Prep Sessions

In addition to the individualized pregnancy yoga session description above, this 3-part series will educate you and your birthing partner for how to care for both of your bodies pre-, post-, and throughout all stages of labor. The birthing partner will essentially receive a crash-course on labor with many suggestions for how to support you through the process of carrying and birthing a baby. Sarah’s suggestions are based in her training and experience from practicing as a Labor Doula. Albuquerque prenatal yoga sessions are held in the NE Heights.

Private sessions utilize a massage table to practice specialized techniques to be prepared the body for labor, and these techniques can also be used in labor to address labor stalls and encourage steady progression.

Three 90-minute sessions: $250 plus tax

Yoga for Fertility

These private sessions (with or without a partner) focus on practices to calm the nervous system (helps to balance hormonal system), soften and bring blood flow and nutrients to the belly region and uterus, and encourage alignment of the body to cultivate deep belly breathing and optimal positioning of the pelvis for organ placement and function. These sessions will honor your menstrual cycle and typically air on the side of relaxation to cultivate deep rest and revitalization of your body.

Most effective if scheduled weekly for 3 months or more.

$65/session; $55 for weekly sessions; $600 for 12 x 1 hour sessions.

Pregnancy Yoga Class Description

Albuquerque prenatal yoga classes with BMY will encourage you to move your body, exercise, and breath in a way that feels good and that is safe and productive throughout all trimesters of your pregnancy. Set intentions and prepare your body and mind for labor and birth. Relieve common pregnancy discomforts. Meet and practice with other pregnant people.

Each class includes foundational principles of form, various types of movement, breathwork, and labor preparation. It is encouraged to attend class at least once/week to get the most out of it and for the practice to begin to have a profound impact. Class is led by Sarah, a prenatal yoga teacher of 10 years, a labor doula, childbirth educator and a mom of two.​ Sarah has been teaching Albuquerque prenatal yoga for over a decade.

A note about prop usage in prenatal yoga classes: The use of props may seem tedious at times, but we use them to support your pregnant body in postures, to allow for more options in movement through all trimester, to keep you safe, and to help you relax more fully and feel great. Classes and private sessions with Silver Moon Yoga are fully equipped with props, including chairs, bolsters, blocks, straps, and blankets, at no charge.

Parent and Baby Yoga Class Description

This type of class is often called “Mommy & Me” or “Mum & Bub,” but the BMY Baby & Me class welcomes those who’ve birthed their babies as well as any other parents and caregivers

Nurture yourself through mindful movement and breath while your baby is by your side. Get some exercise that is safe, feels great, and is productive for the postpartum stage. You and baby will also have plenty of opportunities to play, stretch, and cuddle. This class is perfect for people 6-8 weeks after they’ve had their babies, or when they’ve been cleared for exercise with their midwife or doctor and up until babies are fast movers. Pre-walking babies will enjoy this class. Crying, feedings, diaper changes, and all baby sounds are expected and welcome! Bring any baby supplies you may need and a blanket for your baby to lay on.

Schedule a weekly group private by splitting the cost of $65/session.

All Levels Flow (Hatha)

This well-rounded all levels class is built  upon healthy and safe alignment, which lays the foundation for postural integrity and working subtly to cultivate a quality of vitality and wellness in the body. Postural cues and practice will emphasize core strength, pelvic alignment, lifting of the inner body, breath-work, inversions, and relaxation. Multiple stages will be offered for most postures.

These classes can easily be adapted for pregnancy, postpartum, and those hoping to become pregnant.

Postpartum Yoga Flow Class Description

Move in a way that feels great in this postpartum yoga class. Properly restore your body and nurture yourself in a safe and productive way. Sessions will involve slow and mindful movement flows and have a large focus on intelligently bringing deep strength and vitality to your core and pelvic area. Many variations of postures will be offered allowing this class to be beneficial for you any time or stage after you’ve been cleared by your doctor or midwife to practice yoga. Currently only offered privately or semi- privately In- person or online.

Private, Semi-private, In-person & Skype Session Cancellation Policy

If a private yoga session is canceled less than 24 hours before the start time of the session, $30 will be charged. If a private yoga session is canceled less than 3 hours before the start time of the session, the full price of the session will be charged.
