Yoga Class Descriptions

Prenatal Yoga

Move your body, exercise, and breath in a way that feels good and that is safe and productive throughout all trimesters of your pregnancy. Set intentions and prepare your body and mind for labor and birth. Relieve common pregnancy discomforts. Meet and practice with other pregnant people at Albuquerque Prenatal Yoga with Baby Moon Tri-Fit.

Each class includes foundational principles of form, various types of movement, breathwork, and labor preparation. It is encouraged to attend class at least once/week to begin to feel the profound impacts of the practice and to prepare the body for childbirth.

Classes are led by instructors that have been specifically trained in prenatal yoga and were at least 200 hour registered yoga teachers before training in prenatal yoga.

Parent & Baby Yoga

Often called “Mommy & Baby” or “Mums & Bubs” yoga, this class is great for any parents and caregivers. Nurture yourself through mindful movement and breath while your baby is by your side. Get some exercise that is safe, feels great, and is productive for the postpartum stage. You and baby will also have plenty of opportunities to play, stretch, and cuddle. This class is perfect for people 6-8 weeks after they’ve had their babies, or when they’ve been cleared for exercise with their midwife or doctor, and up until babies are fast crawlers. Crying, feedings, diaper-changes, and all baby sounds are expected and welcome! Bring any baby supplies you may need and a blanket on which your baby can lay.

Postpartum Yoga

Properly restore your body and nurture yourself in a safe and productive way. Sessions will involve slow and mindful movement flows and have a large focus on intelligently bringing deep strength and vitality to your core and pelvic area. Postures and breathwork will be offered to cultivate calm and nervous system regulation, which is often in over-drive for many new parents. Many variations of postures will be offered allowing this class to be beneficial for you any time or stage after you’ve been cleared by your doctor or midwife to practice yoga.

Luna Flow (Yoga for your entire menstrual cycle)

Sarah offers modifications so that you’re practicing in a way that aligns with where you are in your monthly menstrual cycle. Go with the flow of nature in your body. Practice with intensity and heat during your more energetic phases of your cycle, and let yourself wind down and relax more during the less energetic times of your cycle. If you’re no longer menstruating or hav amenorrhea, align your practice with the phases of the moon, which Sarah will specify. This type of practice will help improve your overall energy levels and nervous system and hormonal system regulation. When these body systems are functioning properly, fertility is also optimized.
